You might wonder why this page exist? What began as a routine Achilles heel surgery ended with me waking up in the ICU. Frightened, frustrated, and strapped to the bed, I looked at my wife with tears in my eyes, unable to speak because of the breathing tube down my throat.

I never imagined that a simple game of pickup basketball with my youngest son would lead to this moment. Just days before the game, I had been prescribed muscle relaxers for a dental procedure that left me with TMJ. When my Achilles tore during game point, I felt no pain — the medication masked what became a serious injury.

That chain of events turned a normal procedure into a life-threatening experience. Through it all, I discovered resilience and was reminded that God’s hand of protection has always been over my life.
